Tell me a bit about what to expect at this event!

Game Night is our biggest event of Fall 2022! For just 20 meal points, you can enjoy an all-you-can-eat dinner, including dishes like Thai Spicy Fried Chicken, Chickpea Samosa Skewers, Hot Potato Latkes, and Candy Land-inspired treats . There will be games in Risa Commons including a Cornhole Tournament, Jumbo Jenga, Connect 4, Frisbee Tic Tac Toe, board games and more! Hang out with friends, eat delicious food, enter to win prizes, and listen to a great playlist curated by WashU students!

What gave you the idea of a game night at BD?

With the COVID-19 pandemic, many of us in the restaurant department have pulled out old board games that we haven’t played in a while. We really enjoyed how board games were back in the spotlight and wanted to bring them to WashU Dining! Besides, what’s game night without a snack? ! Our chefs got creative with the menu, adding classic games, newer games and, of course, outdoor garden games like Cornhole.

What events have you recently organized like this in the past?

Street Food was our most recent big event in April 2022 and the first since the pandemic. Students can expect a great event each semester! We have an exciting theme planned for Spring 2023…

Which past events were the most successful and why?

The Street Food Festival was a huge success last April. We loved seeing so many students hanging out and trying street food inspired by countries around the world! Plus, our moonlit breakfasts are always a hit. Stay tuned for Moonlight Breakfast on Wednesday, December 14 from 9-11 p.m. at BD and the Village. We recommend bringing friends and lining up early!

What is your goal for this event?

Our main focus is student engagement, serving delicious food and, honestly, just having fun! We encourage students to try new foods, play a board game or two, and have a fun night out at Bears Den with your friends. Just a note, BD will close at 2pm on Wednesday November 9th so we can get ready for Game Night! We look forward to seeing everyone there.
