PlayStation Store is down, so users can’t download Stray, MultiVersus or PS Plus games

The PlayStation Store is currently down, coinciding with the Tuesday release of the highly anticipated Stray and the launch of the MultiVersus open beta.

According to the official PlayStation Network service status pagethe PlayStation Store, account management, and gaming and social media features are “currently experiencing issues”.

Over the past hour, PlayStation UK’s official Twitter support account has responded to queries from several users asking why they can’t access online services or download games purchased from Sony’s Marketplace.

In addition to being Stray’s release date today, MultiVersus Open Beta Early Access went live at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm BST.

Tuesday also saw the first PlayStation Plus refresh for the Extra and Premium tiers of the service.

15 new titles were made available to PS Plus Extra and Premium members to download today, including Stray, Marvel’s Avengers, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, five Assassin’s Creed titles and two Saints Row.

Premium members can also download three additional PSP titles today as part of the service’s expanded “Classics” lineup: Echoshift, No Heroes Allowed! and LocoRoco.

“We are currently performing maintenance on the PlayStation Network,” read a console post that a Twitter user received and shared online. “Please try again later.”

Earlier today it also emerged that a quirk in the PlayStation Store means that PS5 players who already own Final Fantasy VII Remake are having trouble claiming the Intergrade Pack which was recently added to PS Plus Extra.
