A company called Winning Moves produces the Doha version of Monopoly under a license from Hasbro, which owns the Monopoly brand.

The edition will be released for all board game enthusiasts on November 29, and one thing is for sure, it will be everything you love about the traditional board.

“This edition will be everything residents and tourists love about the traditional game, adapted in a way that Qataris will be proud to play and enjoy for generations to come.”

The iconic Monopoly game dates back to the turn of the 20th century.

However, it has been said to be derived from The Landlord’s Game, which was designed by an American woman named Elizabeth Magic in 1904.

From 1906 until the 1930s, the board game continued to evolve, featuring tactics such as buying and selling land to be the winner.

In 1933, a board game similar to Monopoly played today was created and sold by Parker Brothers throughout the remainder of the 20th and into the 21st century.

Around 1991, Parker Brothers was finally absorbed into Hasbro, and the game grew into one of the best-known board games in the world.

Named after the economic concept of Monopoly – the domination of a market by a single entity – the game has many house rules and includes hundreds of different editions around the world.

Each Monopoly board has 40 spaces, including 28 priorities. The player with the most trumps wins.

Over the following weeks, Mr. Monoply will experience the authentic location and amazing culture of the country, exploring future developments, unique shopping areas and artistic visions.

“We will be delighted to welcome Mr. Monopoly to Doha and help him discover all that this incredible destination has to offer,” said Berthold Trenkel, Director of Operations for Qatar Tourism.

“The Doha Monopoly board will be the perfect keepsake for visitors, as it promises to showcase the best experiences and diverse landscapes that players can enjoy at home, long after their trip.”

His journey will determine the landmarks and experiences that will be featured in the exclusive Doha board game.
