Great Notion of Portland Launches Sweet Lumberjack Video Game, Extended Shipping & Delivery Via App
Grande Notion Brewery launched its app last year, and it’s a beauty. The idea here is to get customers to order Great Notion beer directly from the app for home beer pickup or delivery in Portland and shipping to the great state of Oregon (and now to -of the). The GN app is also a great mobile app for exploring the virtual world of Great Notion – its beer brands, label characters, last drops, and the ability to earn points and progress through the Timbercrew. I tinkered with it this morning, and it’s a nifty portal with enough interactive elements and great visuals for customers to scroll down and come back.
Now Great Nortion has just released its third iteration, and now the app includes a lumberjack-themed video game, expanded shipping and delivery areas, giveaway options, and overall improved functionality and speed. To the press release!
“At Great Notion, we strive to keep beer fun! Whether it’s through crazy flavors like Fluff (a cotton candy inspired beer), our space forest themed beer tins, or by dropping our very own video game! exclaims co-founder and CEO Paul Reiter. “Too often beer can get boring or out of date. We want to engage not only beer lovers, but also ordinary people who want to be inspired and have fun. Especially after 2020, we all need it!
The game, called The Climb, is currently only available to iOS users, but it is apparently the first of three interactive features currently in the works. It brings LARP character Victoria Lane to life and allows players to virtually climb trees and earn points as they progress. It’s the perfect phone distraction, I don’t want to work on a Monday. Additionally, collecting all these points in the Great Notion app allows users to advance through levels and receive exclusive perks and rewards. Android users can expect to see more on the gaming front in the coming months.
Local and national delivery
The app update will expand Great Notion’s local delivery and national shipping areas. Expeditions to Oregon and Washington began earlier this year and are now expanded to include Ohio, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, North Dakota, Vermont, New Hampshire, Kentucky, Virginia, Washington, DC , Nevada and Anchorage, Alaska. A new partnership with Doordash allows GN to expand the delivery area to include Seattle, allowing more flexibility with scheduled delivery windows, and no minimum orders for customers. Thanks to the partnership, beer lovers in Portland and Seattle within 10 miles of one of GN’s five outlets will soon be able to order beer and have it delivered the same day.
Many GN beer enthusiasts will be happy to now be allowed to assign a designated pickup proxy when ordering, an option that was not previously available to customers. In addition to the designated powers of attorney, the V3 of the app will also allow users to send beer as gifts to anyone of full age in designated shipping and delivery areas.
