Harlem Globetrotters at the Van Andel Arena

Swoosh! The Harlem Globetrotters are heading to the Van Andel Arena this Sunday for their Spread Game Tour. This game is bound to be a slam dunk. Enjoy all kinds of interactive basketball games. See crazy tricks and jumps as you cheer on your favorite Globetrotter. There’s still time to get tickets, so be sure to check it out now and have some all-court family fun this weekend.

World of winter instillations

Grand Rapids World of Winter is offering all kinds of family fun until March 6. Families can enjoy the ice park, music, games, food and above all all the wonderful art installations spread throughout the city. You can check out some of Maranda’s favorites including the Light Maze, Bunnies of Intrude and more. Check out a map on the World of Winter website and see all the artwork lighting up this year.

Echo Valley

Check out Kalamazoo’s premier winter sports park, Echo Valley this weekend for family fun in the snow. Echo Valley plans to open this weekend, Saturday and Sunday. Enjoy all kinds of sleds and tubes with the whole family. To warm up, head to the lodge for food, snacks and a fire roast.

Ice skating at the Van Andel Arena

One of the favorite holiday and winter traditions for many people in West Michigan is to skate through Rosa Park Circle. Although not an option this winter, the Van Andel Arena has stepped in to help carry on the tradition. With limited availability, skate times fill up completely within minutes, but we have been advised that there is small availability for walk-in skate times. IF you’re still looking for the chance to skate around Van Andel Arena, drop by and try your hand at one of their limited walk times!

Family film: Clifford the big red dog

Head to any West Michigan Celebration Theater through January 27 to enjoy their Flicks Family Films series which now features Clifford the Big Red Dog. Children 12 and under can enter for free and all others are only $5. Enjoy this family movie and delicious popcorn.

Enjoy the second season of Fulton Farmers Market this weekend. Get fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy, meat, herbs, and other farm-fresh produce. Free family activities UICA

Explore the UICA galleries through a treasure hunt with the whole family. try your hand at some activities, including weaving on the loom. Activities are designed for all ages and it’s a great way to bring the family together and explore the different collections and exhibits.

GRAM Drop-In Studio: colorful woven bowls

Head to the Grand Rapids Museum of Art this Saturday from 1-4 p.m. to enjoy their Colorful studio class, Woven Bowls. Using a paper base as a guide, participants will weave colorful fibers and decorative beads to create a unique miniature bowl in which to store your treasures and trinkets to enjoy for years to come.

Tarry Hall Princess Skate

Check out Terry Hall Roller Rink this Saturday for their Princess Skate. Skaters can have their picture taken with tons of different princesses, including Snow White, Jasmine, Belle, Anna, Elsa and more. Children and families are encouraged to dress up and match the theme. In addition to skating, enjoy games and photo ops.
