Celebrate Hailey Hernandez, Hometown Hero
Southlake resident Hailey Hernandez will be heading to the 2020 Summer Olympics to dive. The town will host a farewell parade for Hailey from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, July 9 at Southlake Town Square. In addition to the parade, there will be makeup, an ice cream truck and more. Bring the whole family to celebrate Hailey before she heads to Tokyo.
Sand castles and story time!
Start your Saturday with a morning of fun at Stewart Creek Park’s new swimming beach. This week’s story time will be read by Baby Sharks from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by an hour of sandcastle building. A prize will be awarded to the best sandcastle builder. It’s only $ 5 per family, which includes entry to the park for one vehicle. Register online or by calling 972.625.1106.
Family game night in the courtyard
The Champions Club du Marq is organizing its monthly game night in the backyard for all families this Saturday. The evening will be filled with traditional and less traditional backyard games, goodies, prizes and more. This event is free for all Champions Club members, but anyone can participate with the purchase of a day pass. If you’re hungry afterwards, head over to Coolgreens in Southlake and get 20% off if you mention a backyard family game night at checkout.
Petting Zoo Fun at Frisco Fresh Market
The Petting Zoo Fun at the Frisco Fresh Market has over 35 animals. Come and play with miniature goats, sheep, ducks, chickens, a miniature cow, a miniature donkey, a miniature horse and a pig this Sunday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $ 5 per person and they only accept cash. Everyone will be limited to seven minutes inside the petting zoo to give more families the chance to pet the animals.
Spend the day by the lake with the whole family and enjoy all the activities WhoaZone at Meadowmere Park in Grapevine has to offer. With action-packed floating ninja classes and shaded seat rentals, WhoaZone is open throughout July and offers day and season memberships. Daily admission is $ 45 on weekdays and $ 49.50 on weekends.
