Are you ready to have a blast?

Stone Temple Pilots, Chevelle, Hoobastank, Puddle of Mudd, Hinder, Treach of Naughty by Nature and other hard rock and hair metal bands will play the inaugural Orange Loop Rock Festival June 10-12 at the Showboat Festival Grounds, located in the exterior of the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City.

Weekend passes, starting at $129.99, will be available beginning Friday, March 4 via www.orangelooprockfest.com.

The festival will feature live performances, meet and greets, showcases, a vendor village, dwarf wrestling, food trucks, after parties and more.

“There are a lot of bands whose songs you like all of them, but you never see them all together,” said John D’Esposito of LincStar Events, the festival’s promoter.

Treach of Naughty by Nature, whose hits include “OPP,” “Hip-Hop Hooray” and “Feel Me Flow,” will provide a musical change of pace.

“It makes sense,” D’Esposito said. “These people are going to hear rock bands all weekend. Then all of a sudden they’re going to hear rap, but it’s something they grew up with. It’s anthems. Naughty by Nature had anthems .”

Stone Temple Pilots, featuring Point Pleasant Beach brothers Dean DeLeo and Robert DeLeo, provided a grungy rock ‘n’ roll soundtrack for Gen Xers in the ’90s with hits like “Sex Type Thing,” ” Plush”, “Vasoline”, “Interstate Love Song”, “Big Bang Baby”, and “Trippin’ on a Hole in a Paper Heart”.

Scott Weiland, the band’s lead singer, died in 2015 after a bout of drug addiction. Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington sang for three years from 2013 to 2016. He died of suicide in 2017.

Hoobastank's

Jeff Gutt, formerly of Dry Cell, sings in the current lineup, which includes original STP member Eric Kretz on drums.

Chevelle stars Illinois brothers Pete Loeffler and Sam Loeffler. They’ve been playing since the late 90s and their hard rock hits include ‘Send the Pain Below’, ‘The Red’, ‘Vitamin R (Leading Us Along)’, ‘Well Enough Alone’ and ‘Face to the Floor’. “

Puddle of Mudd’s 2001 single “Blurry” was a No. 1 hard rock hit. Hoobastank’s “The Reason” is approaching one billion views on YouTube.

Orange Loop music showcases will take place during the day in the Showboat arcade area. Jitneys will take attendees not staying at the Showboat to their hotels along Atlantic Avenue, D’Esposito said. The new Orange Loop amphitheater is twice the size of the Stone Pony summer stage in Asbury Park.

The Orange Loop in Atlantic City is made up of the three beach blocks of Tennessee Avenue, St. James Place, and New York Avenue. It is called “Orange” because it is their color in the board game Monopoly.

D’Esposito, from North Caldwell, is the founder of the Bamboozle festival, PopCon and Rock Carnival, and a former booker for the Stone Pony.

“I’m super excited to play Orange Loop Rock Fest in Atlantic City with all these great bands. It’s going to be great with all the great fans,” said John 5 of John 5 and the Creatures. “Let’s be weird!” Goodbye!”

Up-and-coming talent has the opportunity to perform at the festival through the “Artist Support Network”. It’s an outgrowth of the old Break Contest, which was used to showcase artists like the Jonas Brothers, Front Bottoms, Tor Miller and Jax at the Bamboozle festival.
